Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep)

The waters surrounding Havelock Island is teeming with life. This island has diving sites at every 50-100 meters of distance. Noteable ones are:-

  • Mac Point (6-15 Meters) : Dive here to explore Dugong, the State Animal of the Andaman.
  • Light House (6-20 Meters) : This site is famous for night dives. The corals here are beautiful, one can spot lion fish, octopus, fusiliers, and gang of Humpback Parrot Fish.
  • Elephant Beach (5-25 Meters) : This site is quite a popular site for Discover Scuba Diving.
Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) (12-23 Meters)

Pristine Neil Island offers crystal clear waters where one can enjoy your diving with batfish, pufferfish, angelfish and more.

Barren Island (8m-30 Meters)

Aquarium (3-16 Meters)

If you are a beginner in scuba diving, this site is the best place for you. It resides in the south-west of Havelock Island. The aquarium is a reef spot with a lot of colourful fishes.

Scuba stands for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It is an apparatus that allows you to breathe underwater. You will use a scuba, carry a tank filled with breathing making you completely independent of surface supply so that you can breathe longer underwater. Scuba Diving is an overwhelming marine experience where you can observe and swim along marine life like amidst colourful corals. 

Scuba Diving in the Andaman Islands is extremely safe. All safety standards and procedures are followed carefully. Divemasters and instructors have globally recognized certifications. They are completely trained in dive supervision, diver rescue, Emergency First Response (EFR), etc.

For Non-swimmers, there is a special program known as the Discover Scuba Dive program (FUN DIVE). First, a practice session in the shallow waters is given first where you will be taught how to use scuba diving gear, sign language for communicating underwater, etc. After your training session, you shall be taken to the dive spot to enjoy your scuba diving experience. To make everything smoother for you, a licensed diver will accompany you throughout your dive.

Kids can also scuba dive. However, the minimum age limit is ten years. Also, the instructors will examine the child before approving. If he/she is allowed to go further, an instructor will accompany him/her during the sport.
