Reaching Rangat Island

You can take a bus or private cab from Port Blair. For transfers via ferry, you can make the booking via Andaman Adventure, a well-known tour agent located Port Blair. Keep in mind that Rangat Island is more secluded than the surrounding islands, so there is no pressure to avoid the rush, as there isn’t any.

The best time to visit would be from October to May. This is because this island enjoys a tropical climate, and visiting during these months would ensure that you’d be visiting at a pleasant time of the year.

Amkunj Beach

Head over to Nimbutala Village to soak up the splendours of Amkunj Beach at Rangat Island. The beach is located at a distance of around 8km from Rangat. Here you’ll find several eco-conscious additions: sit-outs, sofas, eco-huts.
Whether it is spending time on the warm beach or swimming among the waves, you are sure to find a special sort of peace at Amkunj.

Dhaninallah Mangrove Walkway

The 1 km long wooden walkway offers some of the best views and natural experiences of Andaman’s mangrove forests. It opens up onto Dhaninallah Beach at the end of its ‘walk’. The latter is a popular turtle-nesting site. The Dhaninallah Beach and Mangrove walk away is situated 18 kms away when you are travelling from Rangat to Mayabunder.
The board walk i.e 713-metre in length, is one of its kind and longest walkway in all of India is erected on the top of a swamp that leads to the Dhaninalla Beach.

Morrice Dera Beach

The eco-friendly beach is designed to instill a sense of calm. One of the first things you will notice upon arriving here are a pair of rock formations called simply the Twins. Sightseeing the horizon from a point between these rocks can result in some of the most memorable photo-moments in Andaman. Be sure to check out the freshwater stream, one of a handful that spring up in and around Rangat Island. The beach is situated 12 kms from Rangat.

Yerrata Mangrove Park

From the lush mangrove scene to an active harbour, Yerrata’s mangrove diversity and jetty alike are worth visiting. Yerrata lies 8 kms from Rangat. On your way from Yerrata jetty to Long Island, you will find the creek which is a living breathing example of how blessed this place is with its scenic beauty.
Stop by the Mangrove Interpretation Centre to learn more about the significance of these particular types of forests on island ecosystems.

Cuthbert Bay Beach

One of Rangat Island’s most popular tourist hotspots is the beach that stands 12 kms from it.Olive Ridleys frequent the length of the beach, and Green Sea turtles and as such has become a seasonal breeding ground for those creatures. There are other attractions as well which include an elephant training camp which is popular among tourists.
In addition to being a crucial turtle-nesting zone, Cuthbert Bay Beach at Rangat Island Andaman Islands is renowned for its beauty and scenic ambience.

Panchavati Waterfalls

Falling on the outskirts, this gorgeous waterfall has been attracting tourists for decades. The regions thereabouts are filled with farmland, adding to the rustic marvel that is the Panchvati Hills at Rangat Island Andaman Islands.

Turtle nesting visit- Cuthbert Bay beach

Located 12 Kms from Rangat, It is a wildlife sanctuary, one of the most important turtle nesting beaches in the islands of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

During the season (Dec-Jan), you may see turtles paddling towards the beach, digging pits laying eggs on the beach, and go back into the sea. The species of turtles mostly known to visit here is the Olive Ridleys and occasion ones are Green Sea Turtles, Hawksbill and Leatherback turtles.

Panchavati Hills and Waterfalls-

These beautiful hills surrounded by rocks fall in the outskirts of Rangat. Trekking is not advised on this small hill as a serene waterfall flows gently through the hills, making the rocks very slippery. The route to reach Panchavati is very scenic and photogenic as it is surrounded by agricultural farms.
